Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport Investment Development and Operation Inc. (ISG) acquired the operational rights for Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport in 2008, which has since become Turkey’s important gateway to the world.
Sabiha Gökçen Airport is easily accessible via the TEM motorway and by public transportation, including buses, sea buses, and trains. Sabiha Gökçen boasts to being the only airport which can be reached without stopping for red lights.
Opened in 2009, the contemporary design of the new terminal meets international standards as an environmentally-friendly structure, and will support the airport’s rapid growth toward an annual passenger capacity of 25 million.
The new terminal was constructed to withstand an earthquake of an 8.0 magnitude and has been chosen “One of the Five Safest Places on Earth” by the American Risk Management Magazine.
The new terminal complex includes 112 check-in counters, 24 online check in kiosks, and 50 passport counters. A 5.000 sq m food court, including cafes and restaurants operated by leading food & beverage brands, and 4.500 sq m of Duty Free shopping offer travelers great value and variety.
